History of Photography

National Geographic has put up a nice timeline on the history of photography here.  It’s a bit NatGeo centric, but interesting to glance through.

  1. What is amazing about this is how much we knew so long ago. The Victorians were really on to the modern concepts we enjoy now, they had the ideas, but had not yet acquired the means to achieve many of their ideas.
    With these old photographs, you can see where the future was headed in image capture.
    Like most inventions, “Defence” was a huge motivator.
